Voltage Blip in CUP Accompanied by Several Magnets Tripping Off

6 days 20 hours ago
Log Number: 4404503Logbook(s): Entry Makers: bschaumlBody:

We got a smattering of alarms in the MCC for power, magnets, and cryo. Seems like the magnet drops were concurrent with some disturbance to voltage at the CUP. While recovering the magnets facilities informed us that they lost several chillers. We also saw service building temps start to rise dramatically so we decided to turn off box supplies. Currently monitoring other temperatures for other systems/buildings.

Tuned 2L20-7 a little

Detune angle was hanging out around -8 degrees and reacting significantly to beam trips. Just tried bringing it back to zero to see if that helps. I think it needs the attenuator opened up a wee bit as well. Don't mind the wiggly GMES - 2L20 is an active lock zone.

MQJ0L04 unstable voltage - card swapped

6 days 22 hours ago
Log Number: 4404435Logbook(s): Entry Makers: jhowardBody:

While looking for the cause of the position instabilities, we found MQJ0L04 has a resistance alarm. The voltage is also in alarm and degrading, so we tried swapping the trim card to see if that help, though it seems unlikely this is the cause of our positional problems.

Card swap cleared the voltage alarm. We will continue to monitor.

Position excursion at 00:53

Log Number: 4404385Logbook(s): Entry Makers: kpriceBody:

It looks like a few vertical lock BPMs in the early arcs stopped reporting changes (or reported them strangely) for a minute or two around this time. To my eye the lock corrector pattern doesn't look all that different from usual and it only seems to have happened for that one excursion, so this might be a red herring. Fig 1 shows a couple excursions but only the one in the red box coincides with BPM weirdness (I think).
