took setpoint and cycled. this magnet seems to be mismatching a lot lately, so it may be time for a trim card swap soon.

6E harp sanity check: ugly 6L orbit, but good IDX rates and okay harp

3 days 2 hours ago
Log Number: 4478941Logbook(s): Entry Makers: alexsBody:

The common thread in all our efforts to minimize IDX rates has been sacrificing the linac orbits to reduce the measured radiation. Just to double check that our focus on the IDX's hasn't quietly blown the beam, took a harp swipe with IHA6E01. The horrendous orbit in figure 1 produces the trace in figure 2, not all that different from the previous swipe pictured in figure 3. IDX rates are the lowest we've been able to get all night.

Further 3R adjustments to optimize 6S and 4E IDX's

Beam to 4R. Again, there is a trade-off between minimizing 4S's contribution to the 6S IDX and preventing any activity at 4E02 (once it shows up, no spreader corrector steering was able to remove it, only 3R adjustments). Further cut down the 6S01 signal through a combination of rebalancing 3R07, 9, and 10 without aggravating 4E, then used the 4S10 vertical corrector to bring the 4E03 BPM closer to zero.

Beam to 9R; IIX9S00 showing activity; reduced

Did GP/PL/GP before adjustments to orbit. Attempting to squash IIX9S00 activity.

Figs 1-4 show initial IIX9S00 rates and orbit once 8R dumplet was pulled.
Figs 5-7 show orbit and rates reduced not nullified.
Figs 8-10 show possible orbit, greatly reduced IIX9S00 rates, and quantitative changes to achieve both orbit and rates.

6L orbit cleanup and 6S01 IDX reduction

3 days 5 hours ago
Log Number: 4478917Logbook(s): Entry Makers: alexsBody:

Moving on to optimizing IDX rates to 6R, damped the amplitude of the vertical oscillation through 6L and got another 20% reduction in 6S01 IDX rate, though at the cost of bringing up the position at 6S01 by 2.6 mm. Only ended up keeping the 5R10V corrector change.
