Hall B upstream halo excursions uncorrelated to beam in the machine
Twice in the past hour, we have had bursts of noise on the upstream halo counters that seem to be uncorrelated to beam in the machine. In figs. 1 & 2 the upstream halo counter is in brown, injector BCM is in pink. Note that the noise in the upstream halo counter appears while sending beam and trips the beam off. Despite beam off, the noise continues for several minutes until it suddenly stops without intervention.
Hall B was contacted and their system expert is investigating.

Hall D current stability and slit size
Hall D beam currently using chopper slit A. When A slit was closed down to 17mm, current stability was very poor, bouncing between 0 & 28 nA while trying to send 25 nA. Opening the Hall D slit reduces current instability to +/- 2 nA.
No deleterious effects on Hall B halo rates noted.
We were sending Hall C witness tune beam at the time in addition to B & D CW.
Suddenly seeing Hall B upstream halo counts with no beam in the machine
Not long after opening Hall D's slit in an attempt to stabilize their current, began seeing jumps in upstream halo rates at Hall B. We assumed this was a consequence of increased bleedthrough, but now we're seeing counts with the beam off, tripping FSD on halo counts without actually sending. We are confused, to say the least.

Adjusted Hall B laser phase to stabilize beam current
Hall B current started becoming erratic, noted that increasingly higher attenuator required to maintain current & frequent max-juice trips. Adjusting hall B laser phase from -121.3 to -123.3 stabilized the current and reduced the attenuator to a more reasonable level.
