COMMENT ON Measure Arc 10 XP Return Hose Lengths
Mag Meas:
Have completed all XP dipole inspections in West Arc and 5C line, mostly in decent order. The hoses vary quite a bit in length, have gathered a good number of return hose lengths to start on when we have materials. Will capture the rest of needed lengths next time machine is open.
Tagger Update
Follow-up Re: Maintenance Day today
Yesterday's MD started at 0800 with beam off to the halls and Ops taking some diagnostic saves of the machine configuration before shutting equipment down (). RadCon assisted with surveys of the main machine and the halls with most areas in Restricted Access by 1030. Thanks to them for the assistance. There was lots of work complete despite the late start. Let's take a look at what was accomplished:
Hall B bleedthrough into Hall D
After D Tagger tripped off, we tried sending xA/B. Hall D east wall IC kept tripping FSD. Close xC/D slit and saw, no more FSD tripping but saw rates on the East wall IC. Ops dug around and found that it was bleedthrough, most likely from B beam getting dumped on the MS.
North linac LO power seems to be the root of 15 minute oscillations
Apart from C75s and C100s, every cavity in the north linac exhibits 15 minute LO power oscillations consistent with the energy oscillations in D and current oscillations in Hall B. This is also tied with periodic loss in the west spreader (probably the lost current from Hall B). I ran a scipy FFT over a few hours of data for all of the LO signals, and the peak frequencies were consistently ~.0012 Hz, which matches with the frequency of the other signals. It would make the beam much more stable if we could weed out the root cause of these 15 minute LO Power oscillations.
